THE
RULES

The applicant, on behalf of themselves and all Project’s Owners, accepts that the Institute provides no assurances regarding the selection process for the Festival. No obligation exists for the Institute, the Festival, or any Texas Film Festival Related Parties to offer feedback or comments on the submitted Project.

The applicant agrees to grant the Institute irrevocable rights to view/download all digital assets associated with the Project. Any dissemination of these materials is not the responsibility of the Institute or any Texas Film Festival Related Parties. Applicants under the legal age for contract signing must provide written consent from a parent or legal guardian.

The applicant agrees to resolve any claims or controversies related to the Project, the Festival, or these terms through binding arbitration in the State. The arbitrator will be selected by mutual agreement, with the arbitrator's award final and non-appealable.

The applicant acknowledges they have the right to consult with an attorney regarding these Terms and Conditions and the Rules and Regulations for submission to the Festival. Participation in the Festival is conditional upon behavior in alignment with the Texas Film Festival Institute’s Code of Conduct.

The applicant agrees to the full terms and conditions provided in the submission application and Rules and Regulations for submitting a project to the Festival. If the Project is accepted, they will sign a Festival Participation Agreement embodying these terms. All requested materials for the Festival must be provided by the determined deadline. Failure to comply may lead to sanctions against the Project Owner.

Submitters must be authorized representatives of the project, ensuring that exhibition of their project at the Texas Film Festival doesn't violate any laws, rights, or result in any adversarial proceedings. They must confirm that the project is free from litigation or threats thereof.

Submitters warrant that the project doesn't infringe on any personal or property rights, including but not limited to copyrights, patents, privacy rights, etc. All fees associated with the exhibition of the project must be timely paid in full.

If the project is accepted, no confidential or fiduciary relationship is created between the Institute and the project owners. There will be no compensation for the exhibition of the project, except for potential prize awards. The selection of a project for the festival does not imply endorsement or approval of its content.

The project submitters agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Institute, Festival, and all related parties from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, fees, or expenses that might be asserted in connection with the project or any breach of these Terms and Conditions.

The project is submitted voluntarily and without promise or inducement. The Institute, Festival, and related parties hold no obligation to accept the project, exhibit it, or return any project materials. Submitters waive their rights to assert any claim or start any proceedings related to the submission, exhibition, or failure to exhibit the project.

Note: Any acceptance of the project for the festival will require the submitters to handle any contractual obligations regarding festival benefits. The institute bears no responsibility regarding these benefits. Also, submitters are to supply a downloadable trailer for promotional use as the festival sees fit.
